• About Caitlyn Wallace

Therapy is a deeply personal healing journey done in a safe, collaborative setting. While therapy isn’t necessarily magic, it can do remarkable things for those who are ready to make changes. I believe there is inherent wisdom in emotions, and take a stance of curiosity and acceptance when helping you explore where you feel stuck in your life.  I utilize an integrative approach to healing, integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy,  somatic interventions, parts work, and energy healing (Reiki and Emotional Freedom Technique aka tapping, as appropriate) as best fits your needs.  I also offer eco-informed therapy, and walk and talk therapy when appropriate. You are unique, and my approach to healing and treatment reflects that.

I practice a whole-person, whole-hearted approach to mental health care and personal growth, and believe in treating mind, body, and soul.   I understand you are the expert on your life, and will work with you to honor your emotions, speak your truth, and come home to your heart. You don’t have to white-knuckle your way through life. You deserve to unapologetically take up space, experience joy, connect to your inner wisdom, and find your why.

I am a highly sensitive person, and understand many of the unique challenges of being an HSP. I offer services that reflect that. Not sure if you are a highly sensitive person? Let’s explore this together.

“It is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world.”
    -Mary Oliver

    Training

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Nevada and completed my Master of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley. I have a range of clinical experience, including work in crisis intervention, inpatient settings, integrated health care, and traditional outpatient settings.  I have completed advanced training in trauma treatment and mindfulness. I have trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy with Dr. Steven Hayes and Dr. Kelly Wilson, trained with Postpartum Support International and Seleni Institute in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and Perinatal Greif and Loss, and have training in various somatic healing modalities.

    Specialties

My practice specializes in treating pregnant people, the newly parenting, women across the life span, and people in life transitions, though I also enjoy helping people with many of life’s challenges.

    Perinatal Mental Health

Facing the challenges of parenting can be daunting. Experiencing depression, anxiety, or other mental health concerns in addition to having a new baby can create unique challenges that need specialized treatment. My practice specializes in perinatal mental health and helping new parents.

    Eco-grief and eco-anxiety

Eco-grief and eco-anxiety are relatively new terms to describe the mental health impacts and psychological distress related to the changing climate.

    Trauma

Unfortunately living through a traumatic experience is a common experience these days. My practice is trauma-informed, and I utilize ACT, mindfulness, parts work, and somatic therapeutic approaches to help heal your nervous system, reestablish a sense of safety, and return to an embodied life.

I offer individual counseling services in the following areas:

I offer a free no-obligation 15 minute exploratory call to help determine if we could be a good fit for your healing journey.  I am currently offering both in-person and telehealth sessions for your comfort and convenience.
